Speaker: Bryan, Authentic Web
Hi everyone, it’s Bryan.
Today we’re going to take a look at Authentic Web’s BRAM™ platform and walk through how to edit a zone recordfor a domain.
Logging Into the Platform
I’ll start by logging into the BRAM platform. As always, the first step is to verify that you have permission to perform the task at hand.
Click your username in the left menu, scroll down to User Permissions, and check your access.
To edit a zone record, you’ll need IT permissions for the applicable operating entity that the domain belongs to.
Once confirmed, return to the Dashboard.
Finding the Domain
To edit a domain’s zone record, you first need to locate the correct domain.
Click Domains in the left‑hand menu to open a table listing all domains on the platform.
In this example, we have over 3,000 domains. You can:
- Use the search box to type part of the domain name, or
- Use the Advanced Search option to filter by specific criteria.
I’ll select the second domain in the list by clicking the eye icon beside it, which opens the Domain Details page.
Accessing Zone Information
From the secondary navigation menu, select DNS Zone Information.
Note: This option appears only if your domain uses Authentic Web name servers.
If you don’t see it, double‑check your name server settings—once set to Authentic Web, this option becomes available.
Here, I can see that no zone records exist yet, so let’s add one.
Adding a Zone Record
By default, you’re adding an Apex A record (indicated by the @ symbol).
Enter the destination IP address you want the record to point to.
For demonstration purposes, I’ll enter:
21.201.2.11
Click Save—and that’s it for a single record.
If you want to add additional records—for example, a host record—enter the host name and corresponding IP address.
Let’s add one for host1, pointing to 202.20.2.20.
Click Save.
Reviewing and Confirming Changes
After saving, a summary box appears showing the changes you’ve made.
Review the list; if everything looks correct, click OK to confirm.
A notification at the top of the page confirms that the zone record has been successfully updated.
That’s it—your zone record for this domain is now live.
This concludes the demonstration on editing a zone record in the Authentic Web BRAM™ platform.
Thanks for watching.
